We are delighted to deliver custom rugs for one of the top high-end hospitality projects in Northern Europe – The King Suite at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Oslo.
A Suite Like No Other
The new King Suite will be one of Europe’s largest and most exclusive suites. With its 350 m² and unique location on the 32nd floor, it offers a spectacular view over Oslo – from Holmenkollen in the north to the Oslofjord in the south.
The ambition for the project has been to create one of the most spectacular suites in Europe, with a timeless, international character that exudes exclusivity and comfort. The new interior creates unique spaces in a continental and sophisticated setting – a suite truly unlike any other, -says interior architect Hanna Guriby, HAGI.
Inspired by Norwegian Nature
The interior concept is based on a modern interpretation of the postmodernist hotel from 1989 and is designed to harmonize with the building’s architecture. Elements referencing Norwegian nature are also incorporated through specially designed carpets by Volver Studios, wallpapers, textiles, hand-painted ceiling murals, and Norwegian natural stone. In an exciting, rich, and tactile environment that radiates exclusivity and comfort, guests will experience a “home away from home” – only better.
Custom Rugs by Volver
Volver has developed six custom carpets for the suite, inspired by Norwegian nature. The carpets for the bedrooms share the same flowing pattern but in different color combinations, adapted to the furnishings. All carpets are hand-tufted in pure New Zealand wool and viscose, with 3D carving to give the suite an exclusive, high-quality feel.
